Elevator Speech

Do you have a personal elevator speech? Another way to ask it, do you have a personal strategic statement that you can share with anyone on the spot that describes the true essence of you?

You should be prepared to have one for yourself. This should no more than 100 words. It should last no more than 60 seconds, if it is a bit shorter, people are more likely to remember it and you. Think about it, can you tell your closest friend what you do for a living and what drives you in less than a minute, and them then be able to tell it back to you?

I encourage you today to spend 15 minutes working on this, it will pay huge dividends in the future. I am reflecting on this since I am kicking off my own website soon.  I want to be clear and concise related to what services I offer, to whom I offer them, and what value they can receive from working with me. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone you met could tell you this? You would know what is in this for me, what are they all about, and would I receive value from knowing this person.
